Bloomsburg Sweeps Seton Hill in Softball

BLOOMSBURG -- The Bloomsburg University softball team swept a doubleheader from Seton Hill University on Wednesday by scores of 6-2 and 5-2.
In game one, Bloomsburg fell behind 1-0 in the third inning. In the fourth inning, Jess Rosin (Brooklyn. NY/James Madison) knocked in Jen Miller (Muir/Williams Valley) with an RBI triple to knot the score up at one. In the bottom of the sixth, the Huskies went in front for the first time with a five-run inning that was capped by a three-run homer fro Tiff Corliss (Lewisburg/Mifflinburg). On the mound, Sheelin Fisher (Coplay/Allentown Central Catholic) earned her ninth win of the season going seven innings, striking out eight and allowing just two runs on four hits.
In game two, Bloomsburg once again used a four-run fourth inning to pull away from the Griffins. In the game, Tara Reed (Williamsport/Williamsport) led the way at the plate going 3-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while Danielle Lazorka (Williamsport/Jersey Shore) also went 3-4 and scored a run. Pitcher Ashley Lynn (Riverside/Danville) earned her 14th win of the season after striking out six and not allowing a run in seven innings of work.
Bloomsburg, now 30-5 overall on the year, return to action on Friday when they host Millersville in a doubleheader beginning at 2:30 p.m.
